Jill is a 2 year old female pet pig who was dumped at an animal shelter with her companion Isaac. When the owner was told the
pigs would probably be euthanized, he did not care. He signed the consent forms and left these two young, sweet pigs with an uncertain fate. Luckily, one of the shelter employees found PPN and both pigs were placed in foster care just in the nick of time! Jill is one of ours special needs pigs, she has an bad arthritic
condition that affects her back legs and makes walking difficult at times. She was also born without an anus but none of these things affect her lifestyle or her sweet personality. To help her arthritis, Jill takes gluclosimine as a dietary supplements added to her food and it does seem to help. Based on their size, age and demeanor we suspect Jill and Isaac may be brother and sister. Both are really nice
pigs and are just waiting for a new family to love them. It is hard to imagine how anyone would want to surrender Jill to a shelter. As you can see she is a very pretty little pig, but we fear she may be passed over for adoption due to her special needs. Once you meet her you can see that is a little shy at first, but once she trusts you she is a wonderful girl with lots of love in her heart.
Despite her special needs, with a little house training and some patience Jill could even live indoors as long as she had a ramp to get in and out. With her arthritis, stairs may be tough. For now Jill and Isaac are both safe in our foster home, would both be great family pets and we are hoping to find just the right home where they can each
shine! Your sponsorship of this wonderful pig will help to defray the costs of caring for her and will help us to help many other pigs like Jill who are just waiting for a second chance. |
